And she is too involved in the weird systems of that world to be relevant to me personally either. It speaks to nothing relevant in society. Watching Ahsoka meet various legacy SW characters and go through a bunch of Rebels fan service is not compelling to me. Andor being about a dude who has been ground down to the heel by the fascist boot who has given up any hope of resistance only to be slowly turned into a true believer and rebellion leader, is something I find relevant and compelling. Also something I find compelling and extremely relevant with each passing day, even though it is executed inconsistently. It also seeks to show the downfall of a respected order than has become stifled by dogma and tradition. Another thing that is compelling and relevant to me. The prequels are far more interested in actual politics and witnessing the downfall of a Republic and its slide into fascism. And then this same character sets it all right in the end, redeeming his father and helping restore peace and democracy. Almost like there is a metaphorical aspect to growing up and out from under the influence of your parent who are defacto dictators. A dude feeling like his ambitions were wasted in the backwaters who wanted to do something important and then being roped into fighting against a fascist regime, which then turns out to be his father. The OT was relevant because I could relate to Luke Skywalker. The only thing Andor needs is to tell that same type of story/writing with Jedi and have more light-hearted moments. When I'm talking about a show that seriously examines modern day issues through the lens of science fiction/Star Wars with impactful themes and character studies while at the same time telling an exciting adventure tale. It's like you think Andor means only a low-grounded show about non-Force users. Yet Andor is not Star Wars? And the changes Andor needs are minimal.
